Neeraj Chopra
Biography
Originally hailing from Khandra Village in the Panipat district of Haryana, India, Neeraj Chopra has been making a name for himself by dominating Asian competitions in the past few years. While finishing his schooling, the young javelin thrower set the world junior record at the 2016 IAAF World Under 20 championships and continued to excel from there.
After winning gold medals at the 2016 South Asian games, 2017 Asian Athletic Championships, and 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, Chopra has repeatedly broken his own national records. Further, he acts as a Junior Commissioned Officer of the Indian Army. With his eyes fixated on the World Championships and Tokyo 2020 Olympics, big performances are likely to come from this rising star.
