Biography

A new, young face to the road racing circuit; Atanaw stormed onto the Marathon scene with an explosive win and course record performance at the 2019 Valencia Marathon. Atanaw ran a impressively fast race from start to finish and etched his name in the history books as one of the fastest debutantes of all time. 

Hailing from Ethiopia's oldest city Mekele, Ethiopia; Atanaw is one of the few Marathoners from the Tigray region of Ethiopia; which is very far north of the capital city of Addis Ababa. 

Atanaw will be one of the top Marathon names for years to come.
