Getnet Wale
Biography
Hailing from the West Gojjam area of the Amhara Region of Ethiopia; Mr. Getnet Wale is one of the nicest and most professional athletes on the track and field circuit today. His home of West Gojjam is known for Mount Amedamit of the Choqa Mountain range that sits just south of the beautiful Lake Tana; the largest lake in Ethiopia; which feeds the Blue Nile River. Wale credits his hometown for his athletic success as his home is near an elevation of 3000m above sea level; perfect for the training of distance runners.
Wale, who burst onto the scene with his medal in the World U20 Championships in Poland, 2016; has done nothing but get stronger and stronger with every race since.
